My Choice to Skate
SOLD
My Choice to Skate is an art piece that beautifully captures my personal journey in learning to ride a skateboard. It was inspired by my involvement in the ChoicesNZ Skate Group programme which is facilitated by Onboard Skate School. Through their guidance and support, I have acquired the essential skills needed to ride a skateboard with confidence. However, the opportunity to experiment with paints on the skateboard deck has brought a newfound excitement to my creative process. One of the highlights of creating this year’s entry has been watching the vibrant colour palette I selected bring the skateboard to life which has been my favourite part of creating this year’s entry. Through My Choice to Skate, I aim to convey the fusion of my passion for skateboarding and art, symbolizing the growth and confidence I have gained from embracing both disciplines. This piece represents the harmony between personal expression, skill development, and the joyous experience of bringing art to unconventional canvases.
