To families: Announcement on visitors to our services under Alert Level 3
As we approach Alert Level 3, we would like to provide you with clear guidance around visitors to our services.
IDEA Services is following the advice from the Ministry of Health and Government to continue to keep our “bubbles” as small as possible as we move into Alert Level 3.
This means that there will be no significant change to our current visiting rules and operational processes.
The Director General of Health has said that for aged care facilities, there may be one or two rare exceptions where a visit could occur on compassionate grounds. These are to be considered on a case by case basis.
We will also be taking this approach.
We know that most families recognise and appreciate how hard we have all worked to keep our bubbles small and minimise the risk to the people we support and our staff. Our approach has ensured our services have remained free of COVID-19 and will not change under Level 3.
If you believe that a visit with your family member is necessary for exceptional reasons, such as on compassionate grounds, please speak to local management who can advise you about applying to our clinical team.
Our clinical team will make the decision as to whether you meet our requirements for minimising risk to the people we support and staff. Anyone turning up to our homes unannounced and without prior approval will not be permitted to enter without prior approval and without meeting agreed safety requirements.
We understand that you are keen to be reunited with your family member, but it is our commitment to our own policies that is minimising the risk of COVID-19 to everyone.
We must ensure we continue to do everything we can to keep people safe.
