COVID-19 update on vocational services
To family and friends of the people we support,
With last night's announcement that Auckland will move back into Alert Level 3, and the rest of the country to Alert Level 2, I wanted to provide some assurance and clarity around our day services.
We have been working hard to ensure all appropriate measures are in place so that the people we support are safe.
For people in Auckland currently at Alert Level 3
All day bases and vocational services are suspended.
At Level 3 we will not be welcoming visitors to our services, except in exceptional circumstances.
When the Government announces the date that Auckland will move back down to Alert Level 2, we have made the decision that we will not be opening day bases for a week from that date.
Until that time, people who live in our residential services will continue to receive vocational services from their homes. We will make sure people living with family will continue to be supported.
We are working closely with people in Supported Living services to make sure they continue to wear masks and keep their bubbles small.
For the rest of the country currently at Alert Level 2
We are maintaining a cautious approach and keeping our bubbles small.
Vocational services will be providing support in line with Level 2 restrictions on group gatherings and prioritising people who live at home with family.
We will be supporting people in residential services to have their day programme run from home.
Community activities will be restricted to those that meet the expectations of Level 2 guidelines.
For staff and visitors entering vocational services, there is an electronic sign-in form and QR code.
We have been here before and we know how to do this
Please do get in touch with your local manager if you have any questions about day services under the new Alert Levels.
Keep safe and we’ll be in touch soon.
