COVID-19 Update: 15 February
Dear friends and families of IHC,
We are all working hard with the changing COVID-19 alert levels to keep people safe.
We have been here before and so we have good systems and ways of working already in place.
In Auckland we are at Level 3 and so are again keeping our bubbles as small as possible. That means:
- we are keeping our staffing teams small,
- our offices are closed and non-essential staff are working remotely,
- we are not operating any day services outside our homes and
- we are not welcoming visitors except in exceptional circumstances. This is similar to the approach being taken in aged care with regard to supporting people at greater risk from COVID-19.
If you want to visit your family member or friend in our services please contact our staff to talk about whether we can help connect you online. Our staff can also support you to find out more about getting an exemption (for example if somebody is receiving end of life care).
The rest of the country is at Level 2 and so most activities and socialising will continue. We will however be mindful to keep gatherings small and will be ready to change at any time.
The people with the latest confirmed community cases also passed through Taranaki and therefore we are not providing day services outside our homes or having gatherings at the moment.
Blenheim, Motueka and Nelson
We were due to host forums in Blenheim, Motueka and Nelson this week to discuss the National Services Review. We are sorry that these will now need to be postponed and we will be in touch soon to reschedule.
We all hope to return to Level 1 soon and will keep you updated,
Ralph Jones
