IDEA Services places and supports people with intellectual disabilities in paid employment with the same rights, conditions and obligations as other employees. Employment may include full-time or part-time work, temporary, casual work, or self-employment.

IDEA Services helps motivated people with intellectual disabilities to find work and supports them and the employer. This service is free.

Supported Employment staff are experienced at finding the right person for the job. They have extensive knowledge of industry and of intellectual disability. This means they can provide the support necessary for both the employer and the employee.

IDEA Services Supported Employment supports employers by:
  • recruiting applicants
  • matching suitable applicants to jobs
  • providing training and support for the employee and employer to ensure long-term employment success and satisfaction
  • finding staff who can work flexible hours – full/part time, flexi-time, job sharing or as temporary staff
  • negotiating employment contracts and job descriptions
  • providing disability awareness information.
